6. Conditions and procedures regarding this life situation
The fiancés shall personally visit Odbor matrika (Registry Department), ÚMČ města Brna (Brno City District Office), Brno-střed (Brno-Centre), and book a date for their wedding ceremony. The reservation of dates for wedding ceremonies in the Ceremonial Hall of the New Town Hall and for wedding ceremonies outside the Ceremonial Hall within the territory of the Registry Office is possible five months in advance. This means that, for example, from the first Registry Office working day in May, you can book dates for wedding ceremonies for the entire month of October at the earliest. 

Then the fiancés or one of the fiancés shall personally visit Odbor matrika (Registry Department) by the agreed date and submit a completed “Questionnaire for entering into marriage”, signed by both fiancés, and submit the originals of all necessary documents. After the marriage conclusion, the Registry Office will issue a marriage certificate, which the fiancés can pick up 10 days after the wedding ceremony; on this occasion, they will also be returned the remaining documents.

By a personal visit to Odbor matrika (Registry Department), ÚMČ města Brna (Brno City District Office), Brno-střed (Brno-Centre), Dominikánská 2, North Building, ground floor. Office hours: Monday and Wednesday 8.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m.

10. Documents to bring with you
The fiancés - or possibly one of them - shall submit the completed “Questionnaire for entering into marriage” signed by both fiancés and the following documents:
- Proof of identify
- Birth certificate
- Proof of citizenship (can be substituted by an identity card or a passport)
- Extract of the data from the population records information system about the place of residence (can be substituted by an identity card)
- Extract from the population records informing of the marital status (can be substituted by an identity card)
- Final judgement of dissolution of the previous marriage (if the fiancé(e) is divorced)
- A death certificate of the deceased spouse (if the fiancé(e) is widowed)
- Court’s final judgement of cancellation of the partnership or a death certificate of the deceased partner (if the fiancé(e) lived in a partnership)
- Birth certificates of children in common (if the fiancé(e) already have children in common)
- Where applicable, birth certificates of bride’s children (if the father of these children is not known)

12. Fees and how to pay them
- An administrative fee for marriage of fiancés where none of them has permanent residence in the Czech Republic is CZK 3,000.
- An administrative fee for marriage of fiancés where only one of them has permanent residence in the Czech Republic is CZK 2,000.
- An administrative fee for marriage outside the specified time or outside the Ceremonial Hall is CZK 1,000.
All the above administrative fees are to be paid in cash at the cash desk of ÚMČ města Brna, Brno-střed (Brno City District Office, Brno-Centre) after the Registry Department issues the payment instruction sheet.
